And Voila! A Quilt

During the hurricane weekend I measured and cut my quilting squares. They are about 5.5" by 5.5".
I pinned the squares together and sewed them into rows.

After sewing the rows together, I attached a border and hemmed all of the edges.

The only thing left to do is attach a fleece backing.

Hurricane Weekend - Movies, Crafts, Wine on the Roof

An Affair to Remember
"Everything comes too easily to him. He's always attracted by the art he isn't practising, the place he hasn't been, the girl he hasn't met."
This weekend, I wasn't able to go to New York so I did the next best thing. Can you believe I had never seen An Affair to Remember? It might be one of the most romantic movies ever made. I was so nervous when she didn't make it to the Empire State Building! Cary Grant takes the role of handsome playboy and begins the movie as the classic jerk. Why is it so true that the nice guy always finishes last? This movie captures that silly dream we've all had at one point or another - that you're the girl worth changing for.

Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Working on a project. A weekend indoors is the perfect excuse to start some crafts.

More pictures / a tutorial to come Note the rocking chairs from the porch hanging out in the living room :)

It is amazing how clear and beautiful things are after a storm.

The perfect evening on the roof. We especially appreciated it after being trapped inside for so long.

Remi was a little bit excited!

It looks like he was howling, but it was just a yawn :)
