In college, my roommate literally hid all of our nail polish from me.
She did it because she loves me and always wants what's best for me.
Also, I think I drove her crazy.
You see, I have this problem...
I'll get so excited about painting my nails, and spend forever getting them just right. Once I layer on all of the coats, I settle myself in to wait for that perfect moment when they'll be dry.
And then, something terrible will happen...
like, my nose will itch,
or I'll decide it's too hot in the room and I need to take off layers,
or I'll realize I've been drinking too much water and need to run to the loo immediately.
Inevitably, I destroy my nails, before they have the opportunity to dry.
Jori would try to mandate sitting still times for me to paint my nails, but I still would fail!
Let's be honest, they never stood a chance.
When they invented quick-dri nail polish, I thought, this is it! I can finally have pretty nails!
Who would have thought "quick-dri" really means 5 minutes?!
Quick, my rear!!
Then, OPI brilliantly came up with the Rapid Dry Spray. As of yet, this invention has come the closest to saving my nails from destruction, but more often than not, I still find a way to smudge them.
Okay, it might have something to do with the fact that I tend to be a bit overzealous when it comes to how many coats I layer on there.
Last night, I did the unimaginable. I waited to paint my nails until we started a movie. I sat still for the ENTIRE DRYING TIME. That's right. I successfully pulled off a home mani. I think the awesome glitter motivated me. Turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself!
